February 2012 President's Message
Nancy Starner, CPS-OM

Hope you are all managing the winter season reasonably well. We have not had too much bad weather and we have been fortunate in that regard.
Our meeting in January touched on time management. Andrea Lawver from Office Team presented a PowerPoint presentation explaining the importance of time management. One of the tips she provided was to conduct an audit to see how you are spending your time, and then you will be better able to control it. There were many questions afterwards, and Andrea distributed her business card for anyone wishing to contact her later.
Dive into the Chocolate Fountain is our theme for the February 14 business meeting. Mighty Auto Pro of Medina sponsored a chocolate fountain for us along with the “dippers.” We will also have games and prizes that will provide more opportunities for networking and getting to know one another better. We will be installing our new member Christine Bronson during the business portion of the meeting.
We are at the time of year to discuss programs for the upcoming 2012-2013 year. A meeting will be announced soon for a roundtable meeting in planning speakers and presentations. Please consider attending. In the past we have met at Panera’s and have had great brainstorming sessions.
It is also time to consider what you plan to do for the chapter in the upcoming year. A nominating committee will be forming in February to discuss and determine a slate of candidates for each office. Would you like to be a part of that committee? Would you like to be on the board? Chair a committee? You can let me know if you are interested.
A sign-up sheet to attend Ohio Division Annual Meeting (ODAM) will be available on our sign-in table. This sheet will give everyone an opportunity to room with another member and/or car pool. ODAM is a weekend to rejuvenate and to become re-inspired as a remarkable member.
Co-chairs Mary Conway, CAP-OM and Betsy Lehky, CAP-OM updated our scholarship application, and they are getting the information out into the community. We will be awarding a $500 scholarship again this year, and to find out more, a flyer that Mary and Betsy designed can be found in this newsletter.
I look forward to our February meeting and the wonderful evening we have planned. Please join in and you will be glad you did! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Best regards,
Nancy
